Explore the rosary, magic, Theosis, and apocalyptic literature in last week's spiritual deep dive!
How does biohacking relate to magic and the manipulation of energy?
Join us as we reflect on what happened last week in the grove October 7th through October 13th:
Last week we explored a wide range of spiritual and magical topic. We looked at the rosary and its role in spiritual practices across various traditions such as Dominican, Franciscan, and Anglican along with its use as a tool for meditation, connection to the divine, and its role in Creation Spirituality and Christopagan practices. We then looked at the nature of magic from a Christopagan and Druidic perspective, dispelling myths about magic and highlighting its presence in everyday life, such as making tea. Then we delved into the complexities of the Inquisition, witch trials, and societal isms like racism, sexism, and antisemitism. They emphasize the importance of atonement and understanding these historical events not only as past atrocities but also as ongoing issues rooted in prejudice and power dynamics. We celebrated the First Quarter Moon looking into Theosis, or the idea of humans becoming divine, drawing from early Christian teachings, Orthodox traditions, and the concept of the Divine Council, challenging the conventional notions of hell, purgatory, and spiritual transformation. We closed the week celebrating Yom Kippur and taking a yearly reflection diving into the topic of apocalyptic literature, exploring its origins and its role in helping people process collective trauma. They draw connections between Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, and modern reactions to societal upheaval, discussing how narratives of the apocalypse have been used throughout history to cope with suffering.
How do historical events like the Inquisition still affect societal issues such as racism and sexism?
