Disciplined Compassion
On the second day, the Living Christ said:
Be not afraid. Fear is a shroud that limits your vision and constricts your heart. Instead, abide in me as I abide in God, for God is the love that casts out all fear. Such love knows no false boundaries and carries no harshness in its heart. When the heart is full, there is no room for harsh judgement which masquerades as moral clarity.
A loving heart understands it’s own capacity. It is never cruel for it exists to protect life, dignity, and integrity; it does not demand that others bend the knee to it’s will. True Love ponders all things, and does not stretch itself beyond the bounds of what is healthy for it. It banishes harm, dependency, and exploitation, creating a dwelling place where all may be blessed.
Love fills the brokenhearted and heals the dispirited. It reminds you that your drive to say yes and your courage to say no are both sacred; they are wise only when they work in harmony to find balance. This balance is revealed by it’s fruits: life and life lived more abundantly.
True love offers what it truly has; it does not lie to itself or hoard its bounty. It heals the world through the practice of this honest love; this disciplined compassion. It is this very honesty that makes love strong, makes it good, and makes it wise.
