Introducing Creation's Paths: The Book
For those caught between faith and exile. A primer for the living path.
If you listen to or watch the podcast, you already know this, but we soft launched Creation’s Paths: A Creation Spirituality Primer on March 25th. We didn’t say much about it because I’ve been so busy writing the Paschal Gospel and the Risen Gospel, but now we have something really special to tell you about it.
What is the Creation’s Paths Book?
In the foreword he so graciously wrote for the book, Matthew Fox says:
Like many Christians and ex-Christians today, the author carries wounds from the church and is not afraid to talk about them. But a maturity reigns wherein she is not throwing the baby out with the bath, and continues to draw on teachings and lessons from the gospels and epistles of her youth that she incorporates with wisdom into the present spiritual and cultural scene. I found her language very friendly as it flows organically from the “Staging Area” to the “Gates of Original Blessing and Grace” to the “Trail Head of the Four Paths” which in turn flows out into Four Vows, Four Callings, Four Altars, Four Ministries, Four Archangels and Four Pillars of Wisdom. Quite a trip! Quite a journey! Quite a pilgrimage!
Creation’s Paths is my Creation Spirituality Primer, written from my decades of study and practice. My goal was to bring life back into the dry bones of the Christian Faith I love so much.
Creation Spirituality is the heart of my faith and practice. Everything I write here or talk about on the podcasts has its roots in those fertile soils. This book demonstrates how I took the ideas of Creation Spirituality and put them into practice in my life and our community.
My goal writing Creation’s Paths was to offer a living practice to help people find their own way into the life of the Cosmic Christ, and how to use the principles and ideas of Creation Spirituality as a set of spiritual technologies to ground ourselves in the earth, in life, and in the deepest aspects of our own souls.
A Gift to our Supporting Members
As a person who has dedicated their life to spirituality and God, my work is only possible thanks to the generous souls who support this work. I am always shocked and amazed by how many of you have joined Creation’s Paths as supporting members, giving $7 a month or more to help us do this work. While we don’t have enough to make this our full time job, I am so grateful to all of you who have become monthly, annual, or founding members. Your support helps us out more than you could possibly know.
As a thank you for supporting us, we are going to be giving all those who have given to keep this work going, a digital copy of all the books I write. For now, if you go to the Library page, supporting members can get a digital copy of Creation’s Paths. You shouldn’t have to buy the books since you are already giving to keep this work alive.
The Book’s Rollout
If you are not interested or capable of becoming a supporting member, Creation’s Paths is available on Kindle Unlimited for those who have access to that platform. This required us to sign a 90 day exclusivity with Amazon, so the book will be available in more places after that. If you don’t have Kindle Unlimited, then you can purchase the Kindle or Paperback of the book on Amazon.
What this book means to me
Creation’s Paths: A Creation Spirituality Primer is a culmination of a journey I started in 1999 when I read Prayer by Matthew Fox for the first time. I was looking for a way to keep my faith after leaving Evangelicalism for Catholicism, and Catholicism for the wasteland of the soul I wandered in at the time.
The book offers many of the practices I developed to connect to the luminous ideas of this way of living. What I found in Creation Spirituality was more than a worldview, it was a way of life that has changed me so much for the better.
If you want a deeper experience of Creation Spirituality, or a deeper grounding in what Creation Spirituality is, I invite you to not only read this book, but do the exercises in it, so you can not only know this way, but embody it.
You were not born broken. Fifteen billion years of the universe’s grace says otherwise, and this book shows you how to live from that. Get your copy of Creation’s Paths: A Creation Spirituality Primer, foreword by Matthew Fox.
