The Water Communion: Tasting Deep Time

The water you hold right now carries a story that began before the earth existed. In this Holy Week gathering of Church of the Oak, Charlie and Brian lead a contemplative Water Communion through deep time, moving from the first flare of creation through dying stars, ancient seas, and the waters of the womb, to the glass in your hands. The liturgy is grounded in Creation Spirituality's Via Positiva: the practice of blessing, of tasting and seeing that the world is good. There is a lot bearing down on the world right now. This gathering holds space for gratitude anyway. Not as denial, but as a form of faithfulness to the original blessing that is still here, still moving, still good.
